Housing

Visiting faculty and participants can choose to stay in The Oaks #6 on the campus of Carthage College, overlooking the shores of Lake Michigan.

Dining

Our accommodations package also includes an option for taking meals in our cafeteria, which we call "The Caf." The daily menu can be accessed here. Please be sure to inform us of any dietary restrictions when you opt into dining services. Other on-campus dining options include Einstein's, The Red Zone, and Honest Abe's food cart.

Library

For help with technology, access to our scholarly databases, using the AsunciĆ³n Lavrin Archive, or printing, please contact the Hedberg Library, located in the center of campus adjacent to the chapel. Fitness

The 156,000-square-foot N. E. Tarble Athletic and Recreation Center or "TARC" is a first-class fitness facility that includes:

  • A 5,000-square-foot fitness center
  • A 200-meter indoor track
  • A 40-meter, 16-lane swimming pool
  • Baseball practice area
  • Racquetball courts
  • Multi-purpose courts for basketball, volleyball and tennis

Running/walking/cycling paths stretch out from campus along the lake shore, and we also have an outdoor beach volleyball pit.

Parking

Please use the "South Lower Lot," which is right next to the football field. Click here for a map of our parking areas. If you are unloading bags, you may want to drop them off first at the top of the hill, then park the car.
